Project Overview

Swachh

Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, or Clean India Mission is a country-wide campaign initiated by the Government of India in 2014 to eliminate defecation and improve solid waste management. The program also aims to increase awareness of menstrual health management.

Phase 1 of the Swachh Bharat Mission lasted till October 2019.
Phase 2 was implemented between 2020–21.
