We had a Children project with 120 students from unprivileged, backward and foster background. We were running this project by the support of Compassion East India through Compassion International. We were tutoring them and providing them one time meal, hygienic elements,games,drawing etc. But it was closed in 2016. So it became a struggle for us to run the children project by ourselves and without any fund.
So we came up with an idea that we can convert the project into a school. So, we spoke to the parents of the children about it and most of the parents accepted our proposal to start a school. So, we established an English medium school by the name of Redeemer Mission School (R.M.S). We started with 8 class Rooms, 1 office room, 1 staff room and One Multi-Purpose Hall and a Big Campus which was donated by Mr. Lakhi Kanta Lal in the year 2016 and we formed a Charitable Organization namely "THE REDEEMER TRUST INDIA".
When we started the school, we decided to take very low fees (including Admission fees and tuition fees etc.) from the parents. But some of the parents were not able to pay that also, because they are very poor and their financial situation is not good. So we were in trouble to start school, but through hard work and perseverence we were finally able to open the school and in the first year we got 150 students from classes Pre-Nursery to Five standard. We were running the school smoothly, School classes were held in the morning and in the evening time we taught them again in the form of free tuition, and fed them through school fees and some local donations.
But from the year 2019 to 2021 we were not able to run the school properly because of the Covid-19 and Lock-down. Again in 2022 we were able to reopen school and had physical classes in the school campus. But many students dropped out of School due to Covid-19 situation and Lock-down. So, we started the school year 2022-2023 with only 60 students. But with the help of our staff and few parents we got many new admissions in the year 2023, and we currently have a total of 110 number of students. Most of the students are from very poor and backward families.
We are also currently reconstructing the School building and making it better for the students as well as all the staff members.
